SCREENING + ARTIST TALK: Anna Vasof

TAIS is pleased to present the work of Austrian artist Anna Vasof, our 2015 International Artist in Residence.

November 27th, 7:00 pm
@ PIX FILM Gallery
1411 Dufferin Street, Unit C
Free of charge.

Vasof will present her latest work, produced while in residence at TAIS studio, entitled “Travel to the Window.” The work is a video installation created using Non Stop Stop Motion.

“Non Stop Stop Motion” is an animation technique in which a camera films continuously but the motion of the objects and/or space creates the illusion of movement, due to the “stop motion” properties. Vasof will talk about this new technique and also present more videos and projects.

Anna Vasof is an architect and media artist. Born in 1985, she studied architecture at the University of Thessaly (2010) in Greece and Transmedia Art (2014) at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. Since 2004 her videos and short movies have been presented in several festivals, some of them winning distinctions. She is currently working on designing and building innovative mechanisms for producing critical and narrative videos, actions and installations.
