As part of a partnership between The Toronto Animated Image Society and The Petman Foundation, a new residency program set to begin this fall will enable one jury-selected artist to receive $7,000 in TAIS studio resources as well as $8,000 in cash funding to complete a new animated work.
Out of many excellent applications, the jury selected Toronto-based artist Brett Long to be our artist in residence for our inaugural Petman residency. Brett is a graduate from the Media Arts program at Sheridan College with over eight years of professional and independent experience. He is a filmmaker and artist inspired by stop-motion/anime who has worked in film directing and editing television shows, music videos and large projections for live events. Long is expected to work at the TAIS studio through the spring of 2015 and to emerge with a new film. We can\’t wait to see what he comes up with! You can see some of Brett\’s work on his vimeo page HERE >>
