Lynn Dana Wilton and TAIS are pleased to present Wilton\’s new work, entitled \”10,000 … Or So\” created as part of the TAIS Artist in the Library residency in Fall 2015. Made in collaboration with members of the Scarborough Library community, the film uses a wide range of stop-motion media. Including animation exercises produced by the people of Scarborough and recordings of their voices, this film focuses on representing some of the events that have affected change over roughly 10,000 years of the region’s history (going as far back as the receding of the last ice age’s glacier!).

Lynn also speaks about her artistic practice, and her experience being in residence at the Scarborough Civic Centre, at TAIS on March 31, and at the Scarborough Civic Centre library on April 20, 4pm.

LYNN DANA WILTON is an animator/designer/artist/instructor who holds a diploma in Classical Animation from Sheridan and a Bachelor of Applied Arts Interior Design from Ryerson University. She trained classically in animation film-making, and her commercial work has principally involved stop motion. She has worked for many television series and specials including Glenn Martin, DDS, Rick & Steve, A Miser Brothers’ Christmas, Life’s A Zoo.tv, Lunar Jim, A Cape Breton Ghost Story, and Henry’s World. As an independent animator, Wilton delights in experimental projects such as Scratch Track, a cameraless film project she helped perform live with ‘hand-drawn sound’ at the 2002 Ottawa International Animation Festival.
