Meet Toronto’s friendliest animators at the Toronto Animated Image Society’s FREE
TAIS Open House and Trillium Recognition Event

On Tuesday June 23 at 7:00pm, the Toronto Animated Image Society (TAIS) invites you to our free barbecue open house and recognition event celebrating its ANIMATION CITY community outreach program program.

Sponsored by a generous grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation, ANIMATION CITY aims to bring animation art and technology into communities across the GTA with portable, intensive production workshops. Working in partnership with schools, festivals and other community groups, TAIS has been able to give large numbers of children, youth and adults access to the art of animation in the program’s first year.

MPP Cristina Martins will be in attendance to celebrate the work of these new Toronto animators, and to recognize OTF’s contribution to this initiative. You will be able to watch the short videos produced by ANIMATION CITY participants in our 2014-2015 program, and to showcase your own 5-minute-or-less animations (bring a USB!). Our ‘Animation Art Party!’ will offer the chance to create figures and use our workstations equipped with Retina Macbook Pros and DSLRs to create on-site multimedia animations.

The TAIS Open House and Trillium Recognition Event offers a “no-strings-attached” occasion for organizations, school boards, and businesses to view the Toronto Animated Image Society workspace and to witness TAIS’ programming, available studio space and equipment first hand. TAIS staff and board members will be on hand to to answer any questions about the program and to discuss collaboration opportunities and custom workshops available for booking.

This event is family-friendly and will include refreshments, non-alcoholic drinks, and a vegetarian-friendly barbecue.
