Motion Control Workshop with Evan DeRushie

This workshop will cover the DitoGear motion control system for use with Dragonframe stop-motion software, which is available to any TAIS studio member. We’ll cover what it is, what it can do, and why you might use it. You’ll learn how to setup the unit, preview and adjust camera movements in Dragonframe, and shoot animated or time-lapse shots. We’ll also cover safety concerns along the way to protect the camera and the rig from damage. The equipment we will cover: DitoGear\’s OmniSlider, OmniHead (Pan & Tilt), LensDrive (Focus motor), and the DragonBridge interface.

An advance knowledge of Dragonframe software is advised.

Instructor Evan DeRushie is a professional stop-motion animator. He has animated for broadcast TV series, and commercials for Kraft, Tim Hortons, Indigo and Lays. Most recently he animated on a feature film under the direction of Jamie Caliri, creator of Dragonframe software. More info at www.evanderushie.com
