GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) is a easily distributed looping animation. Popular on social media, GIF has reemerged as a style of media art; they are simple to create and have a wide range of creative possibilities. This workshop will cover the basics of creating your own GIF art in Photoshop, and will introduce you to free or common software solutions and apps for making GIFs, while also offering ideas for how to incorporate a variety of image and graphics as source material.

Adrienne Crossman is an artist, educator and curator working and living in Toronto. She holds a BFA in Integrated Media and a Minor in Digital and Media Studies from OCAD University. She will be pursuing an MFA in Studio Art this Fall at the University of Windsor. Her practice explores the manipulation and deconstruction of digital media and popular culture in order to create new artifacts through formal re-interpretations. Her website is adriennecrossman.com.
