TAIS is seeking ONE artists to engage in self-directed work, towards the completion of a new independent animated film or video. This residency comes with a combination of monetary funding $7500 and in-kind use of studio space, equipment and resources at TAIS Studios, located at 1411 Dufferin Street, in downtown Toronto.
The Residency takes place between January and April 2023. The selected artist will be awarded with $3000 in-kind towards 12 weeks of studio space, equipment and resources at TAIS Studios, and $7500 in cash funding for the project – rated at $23.08 per hour.
Applicants will be supported by a TAIS mentor to a maximum of $2500.00 and will receive a one year studio membership as part of their residency.
Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age and:
- A Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
- A post-secondary graduate
- Underemployed (i.e. I am employed below my level of education, unemployed, or am employed part-time).
