In his time as Artist-in-Residence at TAIS, Daniel is in the process of developing visual concepts for his short film “Lovers in a Dangerous Time”. This mixed technique film blends puppet animation with paint on glass to tell the story of Lindo and Beaux, two long time lovers that have escaped the pits of substance abuse, and seek refuge in a dream of love and solitude—until the harsh tides of war and climate collapse tear through their fragile sanctuary. In the TAIS studio spaces, Daniel is completing his puppets and shooting animation tests with stop-motion and gouache on glass.
