2017 TAIS Animation Showcase
11th Annual TAIS ANIMATION SHOWCASE

TAIS is thrilled to present a summer night of animated dreams: two 60 minute programmes of short animated films, the results of the 2017 Anijam competition, and a new interactive work in VR by artist Zeesy Powers. Poster art by Patrick Kyle.
The 2017 jury of animation artists and curators selected films for the Jury awards. Jury members: Michael Fukushima, Adrienne Crossman, and Nicolas Sassoon – full bios available HERE. The audience voted on Audience Awards.
The TAIS Anjiam competition took the theme BIG EYES Sharp Teeth and twenty micro animations were submitted. These 10-second animations bite off more than they can chew, and hold you in a piercing glare and won’t let you look away.

The 2016 jury of animation artists and curators selected films for the Jury awards. Jury members: Terril Calder, Isaac King, Rhayne Vermette, and Farah Yusuf – full bios available HERE. The audience voted on Audience Awards.
The TAIS Anjiam competition took the theme Disaster! Fourteen micro animations were submitted, created by animators who have been given no guidelines beyond the theme and time cap, come prepared for anything.

2015 TAIS Animation Showcase
9th Annual TAIS ANIMATION SHOWCASE

The Toronto Animated Image Society presented the 9th Annual TAIS Independent Animation Showcase – The Psychedelic Anijam Edition. Poster art by Michael Enzbrunner.
The audience and a jury consisting of media artists Philippe Blanchard and Susan Justin voted on the films for four awards, with prizes from PIX Film, Trattoria Mercatto, Silver Snail Comics, Spectacular Optical and a grand prize of a full year-long dual-membership to TIFF Bell Lightbox.
The Anjiam section of the TAIS Showcase was a wild, explosive, mind-altering collection of 10-second animated shorts created by animators with no guidelines beyond this year’s theme of “Psychedelic.”
