THE TAIS ANIMATION SHOWCASE 2015

The Toronto Animated Image Society presented the 9th Annual TAIS Independent Animation Showcase – The Psychedelic Anijam Edition.
The audience and a jury consisting of media artists Philippe Blanchard and Susan Justin voted on the films for four awards, with prizes from PIX Film, Trattoria Mercatto, Silver Snail Comics, Spectacular Optical and a grand prize of a full year-long dual-membership to TIFF Bell Lightbox.
The Anjiam section of the TAIS Showcase was a wild, explosive, mind-altering collection of 10-second animated shorts created by animators with no guidelines beyond this year’s theme of “Psychedelic.”

BRETT LONG VR ANIJAM:
As an extension of this year’s Psychedelic Anijam – a lysergic 3.5 minutes stitched together out of 21 10-second films – TAIS’ 2014-2015 Artist in Residence Brett Long has participated with his own VR rendition of micro-psychedelia to be experienced by one viewer at a time with a portable VR setup that will be available to jack into throughout the Showcase.
