Puppet Building Workshop with Philip Eddolls
Sat. Feb. 11, 2012
10am – 5pm

This workshop will be an introduction to different types of stop-motion puppets, such as wire and ball-and-joint. It will cover face types, such as mouth replacement, opening and closing style, as well as tie-down types, magnetic and screw tie-downs. Participants will be able to make a wire armature from scratch with tie downs. Professionally-made puppet examples will be available for reference. All materials will be provided by TAIS. Philip is also happy to brain storm and problem solve puppets you might have in mind. Student are encouraged to forward questions ahead of time so that the class can focus on their needs.

Philip Eddolls was a stop motion Director making commercials with Resistor Art and Design in Toronto. Most recently he directed an animation for Weird Al through ACME Film Works in LA. He has directed at the NFB in Montreal, and worked as an Animator at Cuppa Coffee Studios for last 3 years.
