Every year TAIS commissions an artist to design a poster for our Showcase gala, based on our Anijam theme.

For 2020 the theme is NIGHT VISIONS.

We are so excited that Jillian Tamaki created our 14th Annual TAIS Animation Showcase poster, revealed below!

Jillian is an award winning accomplished artist. Check out Jillian’s other work here

TAIS 14th Annual Animation Showcase will stream ONLINE from July 10-16, 2020

From Jillian’s website:

I am a cartoonist and illustrator. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta and currently live in Toronto, Ontario.

My cousin Mariko Tamaki and I are the co-creators of the graphic novels SKIM and This One Summer, which won a Governor General’s Award and Caldecott Honor. I’m the author of SuperMutant Magic Academy, a book which collects my webcomic of the same name, and Boundless, a collection of short comic stories, and They Say Blue, a picture book.

I’ve been a professional illustrator since 2003, when I graduated from the Alberta College of Art and Design. I do lots of different stuff: comics, editorial and book illustration, teaching (SVA and Parsons in NYC), even boarding for the TV show Adventure Time.
