Workshop Description

Do you show interest in editing your own videos and creating simple animations?  Join us in an introductory workshop for Adobe After Effects CC (AE)!  AE is an industry-standard application used to create motion graphics, special effects, compositing, titles sequences, and animation.  Participants will be introduced to the interface, concepts of compositing, video editing, key-frame animation, and basic effects through this hands-on workshop. Participants are asked to bring a laptop. **Note – TAIS has 4 Laptops and some studio workstations. If you need to use one of ours, please email us once you’ve registered.

Tommy Truong is an emerging artist, curator, and animator working in Toronto, whose work explores the ideas of human behavior, screen-based media, and storytelling; specifically, how they coincide and complement one another.  Using animating and editing software, he combines traditional and experimental animation techniques to create the illusion of depth and space in his works. Recognizing the artistic merit of his practice, Truong was shortlisted for Equitable Bank’s 2016 Emerging Digital Artist Award, received OCAD U’s Integrated Media Project 31 Scholarship, and Career Launcher Fund.  He has also exhibited at Xpace Cultural Centre, OCAD U, Artscape, The Royal Cinema, Tranzac, and The Brandscape.
