Learn the basics of Fusion – a “node” based compositing program which is available to download and use for free. Participants will explore the differences between layer-based compositing (After Effects), and the node-based compositing used for most professional VFX work. Simple projects will be created step-by-step, using stop-motion animation footage from a recent music video to learn masking, keying, and keyframe animation.

IMPORTANT: TAIS has a limited number of computers available for participants, on a first-come first-serve basis. Please email us if you need one. Participants need to bring their own computer (Windows or OSX). For participants bringing their own machines, please check hardware requirements and download and install a free trial of After Effects before coming to the workshop.

The course will take place in TAIS Studios, located at 1411 Dufferin Street, Unit B. Limited parking is available onsite.

Evan DeRushie is originally from Hamilton ON, Canada.
