Learn the basics of Fusion – a “node” based compositing program which is available to download and use for free. Participants will explore the differences between layer-based compositing (After Effects), and the node-based compositing used for most professional VFX work. Simple projects will be created step-by-step, using stop-motion animation footage from a recent music video to learn masking, keying, and keyframe animation.

IMPORTANT: TAIS has a limited number of computers available for participants, on a first-come first-serve basis. Please email us if you need one. Participants need to bring their own computer (Windows or OSX), as well as a 3-button mouse, if possible. For participants bringing their own machines, please check hardware requirements and download and install Blackmagic Fusion before coming to the workshop – download link:

The course will take place in TAIS Studios, located at 1411 Dufferin Street, Unit B. Limited parking is available onsite.
