Caitlin will share the behind the scenes process used in creating the backgrounds for Cuphead – an award-winning hand-drawn video game developed and published by Studio MDHR Entertainment. This workshop will explore how to use layout, lighting, and parallax to create watercolour backgrounds for animation or video games. Participants will learn basic watercolour painting techniques, and will be guided in designing and painting their own Cuphead style background.
Please note that watercolour paper will be provided. There will be basic paint/brush materials available for purchase at very affordable prices. Registrants are however welcome to bring their own paint and brushes.
TAIS Workshops are presented with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Ontario Arts Council, and the Toronto Arts Council.
