This 6 hour workshop offers a comprehensive introduction to Adobe After Effects. Participants will get an comprehensive overview – from starting a composition to exporting for various formats, with a focus on paths, masks and keyframes – the foundations of After Effects as a powerful platform. Participants are encouraged to bring their own images and/or video to work with in the second half of the workshop.

The first half of the workshop will focus on starting new compositions, importing assets (still images and video), and creating a short animation using masks, keyframes and the basic transform functions.

The second half of the workshop will cover more complicated masks, an overview of some effects and plug ins, and basic chromakeying (aka green screen). Time allowing, we will work on videos using images and video brought in by participants.

IMPORTANT: TAIS has a limited number of computers available for participants, on a first-come first-serve basis. Please email us if you need one. Participants are encouraged to bring their own computer (Windows or OSX). For participants bringing their own machines, please check hardware requirements and download and install a free trial of After Effects before coming to the workshop.
