This 3 week course provides guidance and insight into the stop motion puppet design process. Participants will design at least one puppet each, created with the intended use in mind / designed for the type of movement required. An excellent course to take before enrolling in our Puppet Design & Fabrication for Stop Motion course.

The course will take place in TAIS Studios, located at 1411 Dufferin Street, Unit B. Limited parking is available onsite.

The course instructor, Isaac King, is an award-winning animation director, filmmaker and artist in Toronto. He has been directing and animating short films and commercials in a variety of techniques (drawing, stop-motion, mixed-media, 2D computer) since 2000. Most of that has happened at Head Gear Animation. Isaac’s independent films have screened at hundreds of festivals and won many top awards including the Annecy Public Prize, Best Short Film Award at Cinanima Portugal, CromaFest Mexico, and Italy’s VIEW conference, and Best Children’s Film Award at Animafest Zagreb and Earthvision Japan. His many commercial awards include Broadcast Design Awards, OneShow Design, Applied Arts, Art Director’s Club, NY Festivals, Lotus, Worldfest, and more. As a teacher, Isaac has taught character design as a part of Sheridan’s Bachelor of Animation program. Click here to view Isaac’s online portfolio.
