Studio talk: February 1, 7pm
Tindur Lilja Petursdottir will use their time in TAIS studio to complete the Animatic for a new project about the nordic poem Gróttarsöngur. This Old Norse poem (composed during the Old Norse period from the 8th century to as late as the end of the 13th century) tells a tale of two girls bought as slaves by the king of Denmark from the king of Sweden, to work a magic mill stone. When the girls are mistreated by their masters they reveal themselves to be the daughters of giants, and use the mill stone for revenge. For Tindur’s film, they estimate a runtime of 1:00-3:00 minutes, and they will be exploring a rough, emotion-driven style, produced using digital emulation ink illustrations.
Tindur will present a studio talk about their project at TAIS on February 1st, at 7pm.
The talk will be preceded by the 2nd Annual TAIS Member’s Potluck. Everyone is asked to bring a dish to share, starting around 5pm. TAIS will provide beverages.
Tindur Lilja Petursdottir comes from Iceland and uses drawings to tell stories. Tindur recently graduated from the Bachelors of Animation program at Sheridan College.
